(I really dislike that part of the movie, but it kind of does define my mood right now.)
Just outlined my novel so that I can be all set for the Complete Your Draft Challenge in September! I’m going to write at least 25,000 words, which means I’ll only need to write another 60,000 or so after that to have a complete first draft.
That sounds gross. But I think I can do it. I outlined 31 chapters, though that number may change a little bit if I decide for flow reasons, things should move a bit. It was terrifying, because considering I’ve been thinking about this novel for more than two years, I apparently didn’t know the things that were going to happen, even though I did. Outlining really makes you feel like you have no idea what you’re doing. But maybe now when I write, I’ll know. And I have a pile of notes, and a soundtrack, and bits and pieces of scenes here and there, and I’ve been thinking about it so much that I really just want to write it!
I’m excited. I feel like I say that a lot lately. And that is awesome.
