Today I’m excited to be hosting the cover reveal of the upcoming novel Byronic by Sandi Beth Jones, which releases on June 24. It’s a supernatural story that includes elements of historical fiction (Lord Byron’s son is a character) and mythology from the American South. Plus romance, of course. I’ll be back in June with a review of the book, but for now, click to see what the cover looks like.
I am pretty excited for this book, as it looks like it will be a very classic YA supernatural story that goes against trend and uses myths and superstitions that are a bit less Eurocentric in origin. The jacket copy includes mentions of things like boo hags and haints, which remind me of the short story collections by Virginia Hamilton that I used to read when I was a kid. Also, the main character is biracial, and when she draws things, they come to life. Sounds a bit like Karou and a bit like the movie version of T*Witches. Hurrah for diversity!
I have to get reading, but you should add the book to your TBR so that you can read alongside me.
